Jagritiyatra — The moving home
“Have you ever imagined living in a moving house?”
The idea may sound as either “Wow” or “Mad”
Whatever your thoughts might be, if I say that “I will provide a moving house which goes across the country for 15 days” , how do you feel?
Isn’t it exciting to get exposed to different cultures, food habits, traditions etc. That too, getting exposed within a short duration of time makes the experiences more connected with one another.
Jagriti Yatra (JY) is a 15 day event involving around 500 participants (called as yatris) touring across 10 states (appx. 8000km) in India from Dec 24th 2019 to Jan 8th 2020, thus making it the longest one time journey in the world involving such huge scale.
During these 2 weeks, yatris meet role models (some prominent persons), get various insights, have discussions with panel experts, clarify doubts etc.
A special train is allocated for this event thus making it a “virtual home” for two weeks.
Though the main purpose of the event is “Development via Enterprise” or roughly translated as “To building India with budding startups”, it’s guaranteed that one can learn a lot of things in addition to that. One will get to know a lot of yatris (thus increasing network), hear their stories (getting emotionally attached/inspired) speak our own story to someone whom we don’t know (getting away with introvert nature), share ideas, have discussions, know about cultures and so on. Apart from that, the caterers provide food dishes of various states thus getting a unique experience for foodies.
Right now, I’m in this “virtual home” and am waiting to see where this journey leads to.
